SILENCER SUMMIT

EchoCore Dominates the 2025 Suppressor Summit

When it comes to evaluating suppressor performance, how you measure sound matters just as much as the numbers themselves. At the 2025 Suppressor Summit, organizers made an important shift in methodology, ranking all competitors based on Shooter’s Ear (SE) LEQ dBA data. The results speak volumes — EchoCore Suppressors placed first and second in the 5.56mm category with our Sector 5.56 Full Size and Sector 5.56 Compact models.

with SE LEQ Testing

What is SE
LEQ dBA?

Traditionally, suppressor performance has been judged by “peak” sound levels —capturing the single loudest spike of a gunshot. While useful, peak measurements don’t reflect how the human ear actually perceives sound. The ear doesn’t register a split-second spike in isolation; instead, it processes sound energy over a short duration.

That’s where LEQ (equivalent continuous sound level) comes in. By averaging sound energy across a 10-millisecond window, LEQ creates a far more realistic picture of what the shooter actually experiences. In simple terms, it bridges the gap between laboratory numbers and real-world perception. The SE in SE LEQ highlights that these measurements are taken at the shooter’s ear — the most relevant position for understanding actual performance.

Why It
Matters

Suppressors aren’t just about reducing peak blast — they’re about reducing overall sound exposure. A suppressor that meters lower on SE LEQ delivers a quieter, more comfortable, and safer shooting experience over time. This methodology rewards designs that control gas flow, mitigate backpressure, and smooth out the signature of the shot — exactly what EchoCore’s advanced suppressors were built to do.

Proven Performance

The 2025 Suppressor Summit brought together the industry’s leading designs in head-to-head competition. Under the SE LEQ standard, EchoCore’s Sector 5.56 Full Size and Sector 5.56 Compact stood above the rest, securing the top two spots in the most competitive category of the event. These results validate what our shooters already know: EchoCore suppressors aren’t just engineered for the lab, they’re engineered for reality.

The Future of Suppressor Testing

With independent events like the Suppressor Summit adopting SE LEQ dBA as the ranking metric, this approach is quickly becoming the industry benchmark. It provides shooters, hunters, and professionals with data they can trust — and ensures that the numbers align with what they actually hear on the range.

EchoCore is proud to lead the way in this evolution. By combining advanced engineering, cutting-edge materials, and innovative design, we’re delivering suppressors that are proven not just on paper, but in the ear. Gas. Flash. Pressure. Controlled.
